Kernel Outlook PST Viewer is a small, compact and neat tool that allows you to load and view the content of PST files. The PST (Personal Storage Table) files are the standard format for storing messages, calendar events, and other items within Microsoft’s mail clients. The PST is a widely-known mail storage format, as it is supported by all the popular Microsoft mail clients, including Microsoft Exchange Client, Windows Messaging, and Microsoft Outlook. Therefore, in order to open and view the content of the PST files, one of these clients is usually required. If for whatever reason you can’t open a PST file using a Microsoft mail client, then this neat and lightweight is a nice alternative. Downloading, installing and starting it takes less than a minute, as being extremely simple and straightforward is its main characteristic. Unfortunately, this simplicity is taken a step too far and it somehow backfires, as it makes the program completely lack any other function besides being able to open PST view. It is indeed capable of opening any kind of PST file, created with any version of Outlook, but that’s pretty much all of it in terms of features. The exporting capabilities are also rather disappointing in my opinion, as it can only export complete lists of messages to HTML tables. Exporting separate emails is not possible.
In conclusion, if you ever need a quick way of opening and viewing the content of PST files, this neat little freeware is a viable choice. Anyway, you should keep in mind that if you desire additional options and features, you might have to look somewhere else.
